101 Things

This my list of 101 things I want to accomplish in the next 1,432 days, starting April 1, 2010.  I will be posting regular updates about my success (or failure) as I work through the list.

  1.  See the ocean
  2. Travel outside of the USA
  3. Stay up all night talking to someone, watch the sun come up
  4. Write a book
  5. Graduate
  6. Spend an entire day unplugged, hanging out with Cambry, doing nothing else
  7. Finish Cambry’s baby book
  8. Wear a swimsuit in public
  9. Get a bikini wax
  10. Move piano into the house and start playing again
  11. Re-learn the guitar
  12. Take a dance class
  13. Research medicine and work with doctors to minimize medications I need
  14. Ride a SeaDoo without breaking my hand
  15. Get rid of clutter in the house / throw things away / get rid of old clothes
  16. Take a trip with no destination in mind
  17. Dance in the rain
  18. Take one whole day in which I smile at every person I meet, rather than looking away
  19. Learn to play the drums
  20. Buy a hammock, hang it, and spend time relaxing in it
  21. Take at least one photo every day for a month
  22. Spend a day at the spa
  23. Go back to New Orleans and spend more time getting immersed in the culture (and the booze!)
  24. Meet more blogging friends in person
  25. Attend at least one blogging conference per year
  26. Teach Cambry to read
  27. Buy one really expensive pair of shoes
  28. Send a secret to post secret
  29. Read 200 books (14 done)
  30. Go ice skating
  31. Do something nice for a stranger
  32. Plan (and go on) a girls weekend getaway
  33. Go skinny dipping
  34. Walk in a charity fundraising marathon
  35. Go to the ballet
  36. Have boudoir photos taken
  37. Write my will
  38. Mail a letter to my grandmother once a month (3 done — missed July ’10 oops!)
  39. Go to a dog park
  40. Go to an amusement park
  41. Attend at least one Longhorns football game per season
  42. Finally get rid of baby stuff
  43. Visit the store where Pawn Stars is filmed (bonus points to myself if I can get a picture of Chumlee and/or the Old Man)
  44. Buy flowers for myself
  45. Go parasailing
  46. Plan a surprise
  47. Attend an event that requires dressing up
  48. Apply for a job that I am in no way qualified for, just for fun and experience
  49. Submit an article to a local magazine
  50. Tour a new (to me) winery and attend a wine-tasting
  51. Go on a picnic
  52. Go to a drive-in movie and/or movie on the lawn
  53. Take ballroom dancing lessons
  54. Actually keep money in the savings account
  55. Fully pay off one credit card
  56. Buy luggage
  57. Watch the Bourne Trilogy
  58. Go fishing
  59. Watch a meteor shower
  60. Get my concealed carry license
  61. Organize old photos and scan those I don’t want to lose
  62. Get a filing cabinet and try to keep paperwork in order
  63. Learn sign language
  64. Breed at least one litter of pups (not personally of course)
  65. Buy the Nike+ chip for my shoes and start running
  66. Plant a tree
  67. Clean the attic
  68. Let Cambry ride a horse
  69. Research my family tree
  70. Hang a bird feeder
  71. Sit outside, drink wine and watch the sun go down
  72. Pick wildflowers with Cambry
  73. Spend time volunteering somewhere
  74. Write a kick-ass resume and create an equally kick-ass portfolio
  75. Apply to graduate school
  76. Buy a little black dress
  77. Thank my mother
  78. Take a photography class
  79. Compliment someone when I really want to say something negative
  80. Have a breast exam follow-up (been putting it off)
  81. Buy lingerie
  82. Go on a quest for the best pizza around. Blog about it.
  83. Collect a ridiculous t-shirt from every vacation I go on during the next 1,432 days (3 done!)
  84. Get a family pet we’ve never had before
  85. Get a haircut/color that is completely unlike me to get
  86. Complete the 30 Day Shred in 30 consecutive days
  87. Send a care package to a soldier overseas
  88. Watch Gone with the Wind and The Wizard of Oz (two movies I haven’t seen in over 10 years)
  89. Carve my initials in a tree
  90. Finish my Christmas shopping before the week of Christmas
  91. Make a pinata with Cam
  92. Have another “no pants” weekend
  93. Climb a tree
  94. Eat a food I’ve never tried before
  95. Spend an entire day on the beach
  96. Go on a romantic, fancy dinner date
  97. Have a water balloon fight
  98. Play in the mud
  99. Watch the entire Band of Brothers series (never made it past Currahie)
  100. Go to a cigar bar
  101. Dress up for Halloween

I LOVE YOUR LIST. I do, I love it. It’s perfect.

Be careful for the second Bourne movie – the camera work will leave you wanting dramamine (but that trilogy is SO SO SO SO SO good).

And a quest for the best pizza around – what a GREAT idea. I wanna do that too! How fabulous. I can’t wait to read more about your progress!

Great list, but now it makes me want to create one of my own. I love #18 and will probably steal it if I make my own list. Silly how hard that one would be for me to actually accomplish.
